Introduction
OceanSky was founded in 2014 after many years of research and investigation in the lighter-than-air sector. OceanSky had a focus on European air cargo operations where experience from both management and operations has been accumulated. In 2018 OceanSky Cruises was created, an aviation company that focuses on high-end tourism and luxury travel. With a passion for lighter-than-air technology, non-fossil fuel, and innovative alternatives in aviation, OceanSky's vision is to shape the future of aviation.

Challenge
The OceanSky collaboration is for many reasons a passion project for us at KIRT x THOMSEN. Earlier on, our two founders Mads Thomsen and Rune Kirt had worked on a similar project. The KNARR project, a cargo transport airship designed for the wind industry. Mads and Rune, therefore, possessed a unique insight to grasp the innovative idea for the OceanSky project, when social entrepreneur Carl-Oscar Lawaczeck reached out to ask for KIRT x THOMSEN’s help in bringing this future-thinking project to life.
So the challenge was actually quite simple: how to contribute to and accelerate lighter than air technology for a better and cleaner future?
Solution
Our contribution stretch from customer journey mapping, research of possible destination, travel times, optimal passenger numbers, and gathering information, that we then helped transform into content for visuals and animations used in internal project management, for investor presentations, and today also in communication to the potential client’s looking for a unique and luxurious travel experience.

Result
The knowledge that Mads and Rune brought to the project from the beginning in 2014 has helped accelerate the journey from Carl-Oscar's innovative idea, through research, conceptualization, and development of a business strategy and service offering. In short, KIRT x THOMSEN has been an instrumental partner in achieving what OceanSky is today and has the potential to be in the future.
Taking it from the idea stage to a fully booked airship with a first planned take-off in 2023!
