Designing for technology change

Introduction

Floating Power Plant (FPP) is a clean-tech company that designs, develops, and provides a unique patented floating platform for wind and wave energy. They have developed and tested their technology for over a decade with more than 20 million euros of investments. Commercial test projects are underway in several countries. FPP is a growing organization with offices in both Denmark and the United Kingdom.

Challenge

FPP needed our help with animations and visuals to make their clients, investors, and other key stakeholders understand their technology and unique value proposition. For us, this was an almost typical start-up case in terms of what FPP was asking us for. But then again, FPP is a more grown-up, ready to take off and bring their communication to higher levels.

Solution

FPP presented us with a written storyboard for their desired animation. In collaboration, we designed the final storyboard through an alignment process with drawings and examples from earlier cases where we had produced animations including elements of water, wind turbines, and moving objects. The solution we delivered consists of animations, visuals, and stills that are displayed on FPP’s website and used across their media channels on social media, newsletters, and investor pitch decks, and more.

Result

Together with FPP, we ‘cracked the code’ to produce visuals and animations and make complex technology easy to communicate. The feedback from FPP has been great, and we are only at the beginning of an exciting relationship.
