KIRTxTHOMSEN METHOD
The green energy transition is complex and ever-changing. Ecological, technological, and social landscapes are in a constant state of flux. And they will continue to change. But how do we maintain our course amidst this perpetual turbulence?
Navigating such complexity demands a multifaceted approach. Consequently, our response to challenges within the dynamic energy ecosystem is similarly intricate. We employ design as a co-creative process combined with visual language.
Visual language acts as both an amplifier and a guide, concealing a distinctive process and mindset. Crafting tangible and visual elements, like posters, videos, or 3D models, enables individuals from diverse cultural, professional, and linguistic backgrounds to comprehend one another. This, in turn, diminishes misunderstandings and miscommunications. Visual aids create a relatable, easily conceivable medium.

What our clients say
When we inquire about what aspects worked well while collaborating with our valued clients, the most frequently mentioned responses include:
COMMUNICATION — for establishing an environment conducive to open and engaging communication throughout the entirety of the project.
UNDERSTANDING — for demonstrating an understanding of the intricacies of the energy industry and effectively weaving the client's ideas, concepts, and innovations into broader societal contexts and the overall energy ecosystem.
SPEED — for honoring timeframes and deadlines, while also maintaining consistent feedback and iterative processes. As one client aptly put it: 'An extraordinary level of customer service, available at all times.'
(*based on our project feedback survey results throughout 3 year period. The average satisfaction rate of 71 feedbacks is 9.)
Our method
The KXT method is characterized by three key principles:
MINDSET
How do we encompass all the contexts, details, and the broader system overview? It's about zooming in and zooming out – bringing information into context while maintaining focus on the details. We start by closely examining the specific technology and its technical intricacies. This is crucial when addressing micro-perspectives, answering questions like, "What makes your solution innovative? What's the groundbreaking aspect you're introducing?" Then, we shift our focus to the macro perspective, catering to various stakeholders within the organization and society. We ask questions that resonate with a wider audience, individuals who might not be deeply engaged in technical nuances but need to grasp the broader flow of technology within a larger context.
PROCESS
The KXT method thrives on feedback loops that interconnect stakeholders and systems, creating a dynamic process of fine-tuning. KIRT x THOMSEN goes the extra mile by involving the client's co-workers or stakeholders, if needed. This engagement sheds additional light on specific topics, offers insights into particular issues, and delves into intricate technologies. It's about weaving knowledge together, forming a robust fabric of understanding.
VISUAL TOOLBOX
Our approach embraces the power of visuals – playful, stochastic, yet organized. From sketches to interactive infographics or 3D simulations, we employ a visual toolbox that resonates with various stakeholders and professionals, transcending diverse backgrounds. Ensuring accuracy down to the smallest detail, we craft visuals that elucidate technical aspects within a societal context. This transforms intricate concepts into tangible representations that people can comprehend, envision, and embrace. Visuals tap into our primal understanding of the world, offering a common language that bridges our differences in specialties.
